Last weekend, my best friend and I hosted the first (of many, I hope) house concerts.  Our inaugural artist was Harrison B from Tennessee. He’s an amazing songwriter with a wonderful voice — I encourage you to check him out. So, in honor of our Southern songwriter, I broke out some tried and true Southern fare.

Since this was a spur of the moment shindig, I tried to keep things as simple as possible.  The barbecue sandwiches were my foolproof crock pot recipe.  Usually I make my grandmother’s amazing homemade coleslaw, but this time I combined pre-shredded coleslaw mix and broccoli slaw mix and tossed it with Marie’s Coleslaw Dressing. I like not-so-sweet tea, so I used Lipton’s Cold Brew Tea and added 1/2 cup sugar and lemon slices. So really, only the cupcakes took any effort, and they were perfect.
